Ocean View Community

Life in Ocean View is a struggle for many of the residents, having to face the challenges of unemployment, extensive drug use, alcoholism, gangs, prostitution and violence daily. Thousands of lives are being destroyed by the local drug culture. Many children are entrapped in drugs, affecting all ages within the society. Gangs and violence stem from this drug problem; Ocean View has a high rate of crime and gangs are a main source of violence in the township as they manage the drug trade and prostitution industry.  

Youths and adults alike lack hope. They lost the drive for improving their lives by getting an education or working, and so unemployment increase. Therefore they turn to other sources of income such as crime, drugs and prostitution

just to make ends meet.
